Silvertop Stringybark – is mainly found at North of NSW on the coastal fall of tablelands. The heartwood is a pale brown colour, sometimes with pinkish hues and has straight grain with medium texture.
The timber is not termite resistant, while its sapwood is not susceptible to lyctid borer (powder post beetle) attack. Silvertop Stringybark heartwood class 3 durability above the ground and Janka hardness rating 9.2. It is relatively free of gum veins and has relatively low radial shrinkage rate only 5%, therefore it is a stable and good to use for flooring.
