Description
Unsanded Simboard OSB (Oriented Strand Board) sheeting – is the most used structural board sheeting for timber frame buildings in USA and Europe.
It is made with tongue and groove and has a moisture-repellent ContiFinish surface, therefore it has wide application in the kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry rooms.
Simboard can withstand up to 3 months of general weathering. Although to maintain best-practice is recommended that the boards be fully covered on building sites and where possible avoid exposure to severe conditions such as sun and soaking rain, as this will alter the internal board moisture content.
Excellent technical properties make OSB sheeting the number one material for eco-friendly houses, renovating and refurbishing an existing building, and constructing a new building.
Simboard OSB is made of 100% fresh pinewood from thinnings of PEFC/FSC certified sustainable forests. To glue strands together are used formaldehyde-free binders.
As an example, 18mm thick OSB sheeting can be used for multi-span residential use floor at 600mm joist spacing with flooring 220kg/m2.

18mm simboard can be used as a subfloor over the 600mm c/c spaced joists, provided the imposed load is maximum 3kN/m2 uniformly distributed and 2kN concentrated load.
